7/31/09 - Well it's that time again, time for Mark to get another year older I mean. And with Mark's birthday comes another favorite at VA Scuba... COZUMEL!
Today marked Day 1 and T-1 for our divers, with the first group arriving this morning to be followed by the remainder tomorrow. We were all scheduled to arrive together on Saturday, but in typical form, the airlines redecorated flight reservations, so we instead got an extra day of diving.... you can imagine we weren't devistated! We've spent the last week packing, repacking, unpacking, and packing again until we all were packed tightly into our limited luggage allowance..... 200lbs worth of rebreather equipment later!
During the next week we've got 8 divers joining us, 4 of whom will spend the week doing recreational open circuit dives, and the other 4 diving their Dive Rite O2ptima CCR rebreathers. Several of those divers will also be doing their CCR Trimix along the way. We're staying at the Casa Mexicana in Cozumel (linky <-- looks rough huh?!) and diving with Deep Exposure on their private boat.
Since yours truly, the trusty web geek, is being let out of her cage to go dive, we'll be updating throughout the trip with stories, dive reports, and of course, pictures! So while you sit at your desk wishing you were here, just know we wish you were here and enjoy the pics in the mean time!
Sea ya on the bottom (tomorrow),
Kristen
